It's All in the Presentation
This picture has nothing to do with anything I am planning to write, I just thought it might make whatever I end up writing appear more interesting at first glance. I think that would be considered a marketing ploy.
A couple of weeks ago, I received something in the mail addressed to my husband & I. It was from my mother-in-law. Upon opening it, I discovered it contained an article entitled, "Sex and the Mind". It is not uncommon for Scott's mom to send us articles, and quite common for her to give us advice, but she had never sought to advise us in this particular subject matter. I was a tad concerned as I waved it in front of my husband and shrieked, "Look what your mother sent us!"
However, upon reading further, I realized the article was drawing attention to a study about the relationship between caffeine and dementia. Apparently those who drink several cups of coffee each day fare much better when it comes to preventing the onset of dementia. The article also cited the disparity of results between men and women, noting that the effect was more dramatic in women. Thus, the article had nothing to do with what I'd originally thought, and everything to do with the differences of gender in this study on the mind. Technically, "Sex and the Mind" was an accurate title, but I rather doubt accuracy was the goal here, rather a carefully crafted marketing ploy to draw in extra readers and give unsuspecting daughter-in-laws the willies!
After I was able to get beyond the title, I actually found the article rather inspiring and have looked upon caffeinated coffee as somewhat of a health marvel ever since. I hope it does not turn out that Starbucks was the one sponsoring the study and monitoring the results...gotta be careful of these marketing ploys!

That was interesting. I think that I would have the same reaction if my mother'n'law sent us an article like that also! :) I don't drink coffee, so it looks like I'm in trouble!
I must say, speaking as a severely caffeinated person, I always feel like I'm right on the brink on dementia...forgetting where I put things, how to spell the word 'spoon' and why I walked into a room.
I would hate to see what I'm like without the coffee!
I think pretty much anybody would be terrified to receive anything from their mother-in-law with the word "sex" in the title.
That is toooooo funny- and I would have had the same reaction. Since I can't do caffeine, I am in trouble -
Oh - sooooooooooo glad you are back to not only posting, but commenting too :):)
I thought this post was too funny. I have gotten lots of articles from said person but none that have gotten that reaction. Hehehe!! So funny.
