When Work Was Fun
Well I've hit that uninspired phase of blogging again -- sheesh, it just seems like I barely got out of it before I'm back in it again! Anyway, in an effort to get inspired, I started looking through photos stored on the computer. Turns out, I have several years worth of old photos thanks to my dad having recently converted the best of our family slides to digital photos. They span pre-kid 1964 all the way to 1986 and fill a whole boxful of CD's.
For Christmas I put some of the years into a slide show with vintage music. I did an online search to find out what the top 10 songs were from each of the years and then purchased some of my favorites from iTunes to set each year to. The year I was born features "My Girl" and "I Got You Babe" -- gotta love that! I wanted to use "Wild Thing" for the year my sister was born, but restrained myself and settled for "Hey Jude". For my brother's year, I showed less restraint and chose "Send in the Clowns".
I was intially going to post a baby picture of yours truly -- I was sooooo cute (I sound just like my children!!) -- but when I came across this one, I opted to instead prove there was a time in my life when I actually ironed by choice. I have a similar picture of Johnny gleefully pushing a toy lawn mower in the back yard, and Catie & Michelle happily preparing food in their little play kitchen. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the work we have to do stayed as much fun as it seemed when we were in such a hurry to grow up?
Thanks again Dad for making these family gems accessible -- unlike ironing, looking at old family pictures is aways fun!

What a cutie! You know you can still post that baby picture. I'm sure all your readers would enjoy it/them.
First I have to say that picture is adorable! You should post some more! What a wonderful thing having those pictures converted to digital - that is awesome - great idea!!!!!!!!! Those will be something to treasure!!!!! Oh - and I am not sure that I ever liked to iron (unfortunately) but I think I did like to be in the play kitchen a lot! Maybe Allie will like to iron :)
I have to agree, I don't like to iron. I do it as a sign of love to Wayne. I get up w/him in the morning and iron...but I really hate to iron. I hope the girls continue to love to clean. I'm counting on their help in the future! :)
I love old photographs. I wish I had the time to digitize all my parents old pictures and then be able to do some cool stuff with them. Oh, and that picture looks like Johnny with a girls haircut. I mean that in a good way.
